Seven and Seven for Emporia State

December 4, 2007-With both the Hornets and Lady Hornets ranked #7 nationally, Emporia State is the only NCAA Division II school in the country to have their men's and women's basketball teams ranked in the top ten. Out of over 1,000 NCAA basketball playing institutions, ESU joins Division I North Carolina and Division III Wisc.-Whitewater as the only NCAA schools with both their men's and women's basketball teams currently ranked in the top ten.
This is the 103rd week the Lady Hornets have been in the top ten since 1997-98 and the eighth time the ESU men have made the top ten with seven of them coming in the 2007 calender year.
The Hornets are in action Wednesday night when they play host to Newman. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 7 p.m. The Lady Hornets will play host to Harris-Stowe on Saturday night in their next home action. Tip-off on Dec. 8 is set for 7 p.m. in White Auditorium.
