Razorbacks Coach Steps Down

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Houston Nutt has resigned as Arkansas football coach just three days after his team stunned Number-1 LSU 50-48 in triple overtime.

Nutt says he hopes his departure will unify the state. Chancellor John A. White says Nutt's resignation was not forced, encouraged or requested.

Nutt had been under fire early in the season following losses in Arkansas' first three Southeastern Conference games and a turmoil-filled off-season. Arkansas finished with an 8-and-4 record.
