A&M's Franchione Resigns after Win

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ Texas A-and-M built a 38-17 lead
and held on for a 38-30 win over 13th-ranked Texas in Dennis
Franchione's (fran-CHOH'-neez) final regular-season game as the
Aggies coach. After the game, Franchione resigned.
Stephen McGee threw for a career-high 362 yards and three
touchdowns as the Aggies severely damaged the Longhorns shot at
making the Big 12 title game. McGee's final TD pass with a 66-yard
play to Earvin Taylor that put A-and-M ahead by 21 in the fourth
quarter.
McGee also ran for a touchdown, and kick-holder T.J. Sanders
scored with a five-yard run on a fake field goal.
Colt McCoy threw for 229 yards, one touchdown and one
interception as the Longhorns dropped to 9-and-3 overall, 5-and-3
in the conference. Texas can still get to the Big 12 title game,
but only if Oklahoma loses to Oklahoma State on Saturday.
