McAnderson Gives Kansas A Lift

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Kansas coach Mark Mangino found his
running back while cheering for his own son in high school.
His son, Tommy Mangino, played quarterback for Lawrence High and
Brandon McAnderson was a running back and linebacker.
Mangino noticed McAnderson at those games. Not many other
big-time head coaches were spending much time studying him.
Now five years later McAnderson has been a major help for Number
2 Kansas which has its highest ranking in school history.
McAnderson has responded with 1,009 yards on the ground this
season going into tomorrow night's game against Number 3 Missouri
for the Big 12 North title.
