Todd Reesing Named Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Jayhawk sophomore quarterback Todd Reesing was named Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday. Reesing, who threw four touchdown passes in the Jayhawks’ 45-7 win over Iowa State this past weekend, shared the award with Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell.

Reesing, a 5-foot-10 Austin, Texas, native, completed 21-of-26 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns versus the Cyclones. The four-touchdown game was the fourth of the season for Reesing, while he also finished the game without any interceptions for the sixth-straight game.

Reesing is the first Jayhawk to earn offensive player of the week honors this season. Cornerback Aqib Talib (11/12) picked up defensive player of the week honors, while Scott Webb (10/22) and Marcus Herford (9/10) were each tabbed for special teams player of the week.

Reesing is the first KU offensive player to earn the honor since running back Jon Cornish picked up the honor following the Kansas State game in 2006.

The No. 2-ranked Jayhawks, who improved to 11-0 with the win over ISU, will host fourth-ranked Missouri (10-1) in the regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. Game time is slated for 7 p.m., with a live telecast by ABC. In addition, ESPN College Gameday will broadcast live throughout the day from Arrowhead Stadium.
