Croyle will start for Chiefs<
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kansas City coach Herm Edwards says
second-year man Brodie Croyle will start at quarterback against
Indianapolis this week. Edwards says the Chiefs need a spark.
Croyle came in for a shaken-up Damon Huard against Denver
Croyle was 17-for-30 for 162 yards and one interception in the
Chiefs 27-11 loss.
Huard is an 11-year veteran who was a backup all his career
until beating out Croyle in the preseason. He played well in eight
starts last year when Trent Green was injured but was inconsistent
Croyle was a third-round pick from Alabama in 2006. He will be
the first quarterback drafted by Kansas City to start a game for
the Chiefs since Todd Blackledge, who was drafted in 1983.
