Wildcats, Thunderbirds Set to Tussle Tonight

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State will look to extend its home non-conference win streak to 17 as the Wildcats conclude a season-opening two-game home stand with a matchup Monday night against Southern Utah at 7 p.m. Monday night’s contest can be heard live from Bramlage Coliseum on the K-State Sports Network, with the award-winning Brian Smoller providing the play-by-play and former Wildcat Missy Heidrick adding the color analysis.

Kansas State won its ninth straight home-opener and the 15th of the last 16 with an 88-61 defeat of Washington on Saturday night. The Wildcats have now won three of the last four meetings with PAC-10 schools. The win was the 11th in 12 opportunities for head coach Deb Patterson in home openers and the 27-point margin of victory was the largest since a 36-point win over Detroit to start the 2005-06 season.
