Starting/Playing Streaks & Notes: LB Donnie Edwards started his 146th consecutive contest, the fifth-longest active streak in the NFL. C Casey Wiegmann made his 104th consecutive start.
Safety Dance: P Bernard Pollard blocked the third punt of his career, blocking a P Todd Sauerbrun punt of the end zone resulting in a safety. It marked the first time the Chiefs had registered a safety since TE Mikhael Ricks blocked a P Josh Miller punt of the out of the end zone vs. Pittsburgh (10/14/01).
Turnover Stats: LB Derrick Johnson registered his second INT of the season and the second of his career. Johnson also forced a RB Selvin Young fumble that was recovered by Denver. It was his second forced fumble of the season and the sixth of his career. S Greg Wesley forced a RB Andre Hall fumble that was recovered by Denver. It was Wesley’s first forced fumble of the season and the 12th of his career.
Holmes Notes: RB Priest Holmes made his first start since being in the opening lineup at San Diego (10/30/05), a span of 742 days. Holmes now has 6,015 career rushing yards, become the first Chiefs player to top the 6,000-yard barrier.
Goin’ Gonzo: TE Tony Gonzalez extended his franchise-record streak of consecutive games with a reception to 108 contests, the second-longest streak compiled by a TE in NFL history.
Sack Stats: DE Jared Allen recorded a sack, giving him 9.5 on the season and 37.0 for his career.
The Bowe Show: WR Dwayne Bowe had a career-high nine catches for 105 yards. He joins RB/S Johnny Robinson (’63) and WR Sylvester Morris (2000) as the only other rookies in franchise history to post a pair of 100-yard receiving games. Bowe has 604 receiving yards, the fourth-highest seasonal total by a rookie in Chiefs annals.
