ESU Plays Gonzaga Tough First Half, Falls 101-70

The #23 Emporia State Hornets trailed 47-43 at the half but #14 Gonzaga used a 9-0 run to open the second half and closed on a 15-4 run to post a 101-70 win in Spokane, Wash. on Wednesday night.
ESU's Wes Book and DeAndre Townsend each scored 17 points to lead all scorers. Three Hornet starters fouled out of the game as Gonzaga outscored ESU 24-6 from the foul line.
The Hornets will take on a group of ESU Alumni, featuring former first-team All-MIAA players Donta Watson and Robbie Ballard, on Saturday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at White Auditorium. This game is not part of the season ticket package. All seats will be general admission with adults at $5 and youth/senior citizens at $3.
