Mainz and Fahey Named to 1st Team CoSIDA/Daktronics Team

TOPEKA, Kan. -- One day after being named to the MIAA First Team all-conference squad, junior forward Jessica Mainz and junior defender Lisa Fahey were each named to the CoSIDA/Daktronics First Team All-Central Regional team which was announced today. Both will advance to the All-American ballot. Mainz was a first team pick last season and Fahey was a second team pick last year.
Mainz, who was a unanimous first team all-MIAA selection for the third season, is currently ranked second in the MIAA in scoring (1.76 ppg) and goals (0.71 gpg) and is tied for first in assists (0.33 apg), as she led the Lady Blues to a berth in the inaugural MIAA Postseason Tournament. Mainz also climbed to third on the conference's career scoring (97 pts.) and goals (41) lists. Mainz was also named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic all-District team.
Fahey received first team honors this season after being named honorable mention as a freshman and as a sophomore. Fahey scored six goals this season, which was third on the team as she finished fourth in points with 12. Fahey was also named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic all-District team.
