Kansas Football Moves To Eighth In All Four Polls

LAWRENCE, Kan. – With a 19-11 road victory at Texas A&M on Saturday, the University of Kansas football team improved to 8-0 on the season and moved up in each of the four national polls this week.

The Jayhawks found themselves ranked eighth in all four major polls on Sunday. Kansas moved up one spot in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) poll, two places in the USA Today/Coaches rankings, jumped three places in the Harris Interactive Poll and moved past four teams in the Associated Press listings.

The ranking of eighth is the highest for KU since being listed sixth in the AP poll on Oct. 28, 1995. It is also just the 29th week the Jayhawks have been listed among the nation’s top 10 in the AP poll all-time.

KU entered the national rankings this season on Oct. 7 when the Jayhawks were ranked 20th in the AP, Coaches and Harris polls.

Kansas will look to extend the nation’s fourth longest active winning streak this Saturday when the Jayhawks host Nebraska on homecoming at Memorial Stadium. The game can be seen nationally on FSN with the kickoff scheduled for 11:30 a.m. CST.
