Chiefs defensive end making his presence felt

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kansas City defensive end Jared Allen is
enjoying the season, now that he's back in action.
Allen is tied for the league lead with eight sacks and seems
ready to take his place among the NFL's elite defensive linemen.
And his eight sacks for 61 yards in losses came in only five games.
Allen also has forced two fumbles and knocked down four passes
while energizing the defense. And the defense is the major reason
the 4-3 Chiefs are the surprise leaders in the AFC West.
Without Allen, the Chiefs were 0-2. With him, they're 4-1.
Allen sat out the first two games this season because of his
suspension for two DUI convictions.
Allen's buddy, Chiefs fullback Boomer Grigsby, says Allen has
given up drinking since then.
