MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State’s men’s basketball exhibition against Fort Hays State will tipoff at 5 p.m., on Saturday, November 3, followed by the Wildcats’ volleyball match against Nebraska at 7 p.m., athletics officials announced today.
The basketball game will be broadcast on the K-State Sports Network across its 31-station radio network following coverage of the Wildcats’ football game against Iowa State. The football game is set for 11:30 a.m., at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa, and will be televised nationally on the Versus Network. Versus is available in Manhattan on Cox Communications channel 256 as part of the digital sports and information package.
The 14th-ranked Wildcat volleyball team, currently standing in fourth place in the Big 12 Conference and eyeing an NCAA tournament berth, hosts defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Nebraska in a key match at Ahearn Field House. Fans attending the men’s basketball game are encouraged to support the volleyball team following the exhibition.
This will be K-State’s only exhibition game before head coach Frank Martin and the Wildcats open the regular season against Sacramento State at 7 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 9.
Fort Hays State returns four lettermen from the 2006-07 season, which produced a 13-15 overall record and 6-12 mark in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
Game time for Kansas State’s regular season game against Western Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 18 is still at a time to be determined. The school will announce a start time for that contest once it learns from the Big 12 Conference the kickoff time for the Wildcats’ football game against Missouri at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
