Topeka, KS, October 18, 2007– The Governor’s Cup Invitational Soccer Tournament, hosted by Sunflower Soccer Association will be held October 20 & 21 and October 27 & 28, 2007 at Sunflower Soccer Complex, 4829 NW 17th Street.
This fall the tournament will host 244 teams from Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska over the two weekend event. The first weekend features boy’s and girl’s recreational teams and boy’s competitive teams. The second weekend will feature girl’s competitive teams. Approximately 10,000 people will play and cheer in Topeka over the two weekend event.
Matches begin on both Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 a.m. and will run throughout the day. There will be vendors providing food and soccer specific items at the soccer complex.
Tournament sponsors include the City of Topeka, Visit Topeka, St. Francis Sports Medicine, Parrish Hotels, Inc., Brine and Old Chicago.
