Cornhuskers look to Osborne to keep things afloat in Lincoln

AP-Football: Nebraska AD-Osborne

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Former Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne
is returning to the university as interim athletic director. School
chancellor Harvey Perlman made the announcement a day after firing
AD Steve Pederson (PEE'-dur-sehn).
The 70-year-old Osborne returns 10 years after finishing a
celebrated coaching career that culminated with three national
championships in his last four seasons.
Since leaving coaching, Osborne has served three terms in
Congress, made an unsuccessful gubernatorial run, taught in the
university's business school and worked as a consultant for local
college athletic departments.
