Kansas State still shooting for Big 12 North title

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ It took Kansas State three years to get
back into the Top 25, but it took only one weekend to fall back
out.
Kansas State was 24th in last week's Associated Press poll, but
the Wildcats lost at home to Kansas on Saturday and dropped back
out of the rankings.
Kansas State (3-2, 101 Big 12) plays Colorado (4-2, 2-0) at home
this week, and the Buffaloes are coming off a 43-23 win at Baylor.
Coach Ron Prince said his team's goal is still to win the Big 12
North. He says the team captains -- quarterback Josh Freeman, wide
receiver Jordy Nelson, linebacker Ian Campbell and linebacker
Justin Roland -- are helping keep the team on an even keel.
Nelson leads the team with 52 receptions for 634 yards, and he
says the Wildcats are just two possessions away from being 5-0.
