Chiefs kicker Rayner named AFC special teams player of the week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kansas City kicker Dave Rayner is the
AFC special-teams player of the week.
In Sunday's 30-16 win over San Diego, Rayner kicked field goals
of 21, 25 and 41 yards and landed all seven of his kickoffs inside
the 10-yard line.
The Chiefs signed Rayner last month as a replacement for
fifth-round draft pick Justin Medlock of UCLA. Rayner had been cut
by Green Bay in favor of rookie kicker Mason Crosby from Colorado.
Eddie Kennison returned to practice with the Chiefs for the
first time since the veteran wide receiver injured his hamstring on
the first offensive play of the year.
