The Washburn Lady Blues will finish a three-game homestand as they take on arch-rival Emporia State in the second edition of the Turnpike Tussle
on Thursday in Yager Stadium starting at 7 p.m. The Lady Blues won the
first meeting of the season on Sept. 8 in Emporia 6-0. Washburn has also
won the last five meetings with the Hornets. On Sunday, the Lady Blues
will travel to Omaha, Neb., to take on the defending national champions
in Metro State at noon. It will be the first meeting between the two
schools. Washburn will return home with matches on Oct. 12 and 13
against Northwest Missouri and Truman respectively.
