KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ The Cleveland Indians are ready for the
playoffs. They completed the 2007 regular season with a 4-2 win
over Kansas City. Travis Hafner led the way with two RBIs to finish
with 100 for the fourth straight season. After a slow start to the
season, Hafner hit .373 in his last 17 games with three home runs
and 13 runs batted in.
Joe Borowski came on in the ninth to land his league leading
45th save in 53 chances.
The game marked the end of the line for Buddy Bell as manager of
the Royals. He announced earlier in the season that he would step
down at the end of the regular season.
Up next for the Indians, a best-of-five series against New
York's Yankees that starts this Thursday in Cleveland.
