September 29, 2007 -- The ESU volleyball team earned it's 14th win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Missouri Western in St. Joseph on Saturday. ESU shot out of the gate with a 30-23 victory before the Griffons bounced back in game two with a 30-25 win. The Hornets would then use back to back 30-24 victories to close out the match and move to 14-5 on the season and 4-2 in the MIAA. Both the Hornets MIAA losses on the season have come to teams in the ranked in the top 10 in the nation.
Arica Shepard double-double as she finished the night with 21 kills and 16 digs in the match. Brittney Miller hit over .300 for the second straight match by hitting .353 with nine kills on the evening. Megan Koster also finished with nine kills for the Hornets. Ting Liu again earned over 40 sets on the night finishing with 49 on the night.
The Hornets will next be in action at home on Oct. 2 facing Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m. from W L White Auditorium in Emporia.
