LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former Kansas football player and current Tampa Bay Storm offensive lineman Marcus Owen will be appearing in the movie The Game Plan, which will be released nationwide on Sept. 28.
Owen, who played at Kansas from 1997-2000, also appeared in the movie The Longest Yard. Owen, who was a two-year starter at offensive guard at KU, is from St. Louis, Mo. He earned third-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2000. Owen is in his fifth year as a member of the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.
In the movie, Owen is an offensive lineman for the Boston Rebels. He is one of approximately 25 active Arena Football players, who participated in the filming of the movie, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
"I have nothing but glowing things to say about my experience in working with these guys," Johnson said of the Arena Football players. "I especially enjoyed working with my center, Marcus "Snowball" Owen who plays for Tampa Bay…he was great."
