Thousands of parents and kids filled the Expocentre Saturday for the first day of the State Wrestling Championship. The boys are divided into two categories: 8 and under and 16 and under. They had to qualify for state in order to participate.

The teams came to Topeka from all over Kansas including Paola, Gardner, Dodge City, Overland Park, Olathe, Hays, just to name a few.

They will compete through Sunday in hopes of winning a plaque and the title of State Champion.
