Rob Russel's Real Cowboy Beans!
After you've put away the corned beef and cabbage, grab the beef and bacon and try this delish dish!
Real Cowboy Beans w/Rob Russel – Ace of Hearts BBQ Specialties
As Seen with Chef Alli on "13 News at 4:00"
2 lbs. 80% lean ground beef
1 lb. hickory smoked bacon
2 – 31 oz. cans pork and beans, with juices
30 oz. dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 small bottle pure maple syrup
1 small onion, small dice
6 oz. pineapple juice
1 Tbs. Three Little Pigs Memphis Rub/Seasoning
2 Tbs. Three Little Pigs Taste of Cherry Rub/Seasoning
Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces. In a large stock pot, cook bacon over medium high heat until well cooked, but not crispy; do not drain fats. Add ground beef and onions to bacon in pot along with Memphis Rub; cook over medium heat until ground beef is browned and onions are soft. Add pork and beans and kidney beans; add ¾ bottle of pure maple syrup, Taste of Cherry Rub, and pineapple juice. Cook over medium heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and cook 20 minutes longer – that’s how you make Real Cowboy Beans! Yum!
