With Santa’s Sleigh being readied to haul the toy bag, it’s time for my annual Northeast Kansas sports “wish list”.
It’s the subject for tonight’s “On the Mark”. Dear Santa.
We got an elite eight, a D-2 playoff game, a BCSl, and produced a handful of All-Americans.
Of course, there is the matter of an academic tutoring issue, and a couple of unresolved parking tickets --- but mostly --- we’ve been pretty good.
So… here’s what we’d like this holiday. To Washburn --- the football program deserves a top notch weight facility --- and a continued “rebound to past glory” effort from Bob Chipman’s Ichabods.
Of course --- we can’t wait until the Lady Hornets play the Lady Blues – but --- can you arrange it so one won’t end up having to eliminate the other from the post-season? Hockey --- Even more fans to take notice of a good RoadRunners team.
For the Sunflower State Games --- more participants --- more Dodge Ball.
Kansas --- A big slice of that Orange --- and a “Sprint Center-like” March through the month of March.
For K-State --- how about more like Jordy Nelson?
There’s a couple of other things we’re wishing for --- A baseball facility to house a minor league team and a public ice rink would be a bonus.
Willie and Big Jay will leave the usual goodies for when you visit.
And… finally on our holiday wish list --- more power --- less ice. That’s “On the Mark”.

Basketball, no question.
I dig volleyball
Running camps are good, but rare.
Tennis, golf, country club sports, you know
football camps are what's up.
I prefer science camps, don't you?
