(CNN) -- The four victims discovered inside a burning home in Arkansas were all shot before the fire, police said Friday.

A fifth victim, found on the same Garland County, Arkansas, property, was found in a separate residence and was also shot, said Lt. James Martin of the Garland County Sheriff's Department. That residence was not set on fire, Martin said earlier, and the victim was an 80-year-old man -- Edward Earl Gentry Sr.

The other bodies were so badly burned authorities could not visually identify even their genders, Martin said. Investigators are working on their identification.

Police found the bodies after they were called to the burning home in the town of Pearcy on Thursday morning, Martin said.

Authorities also found a car registered to the owners of the home that had been set ablaze, Martin said. It was 15 to 20 miles away from the home, he said.

Investigators did not have any leads or suspects, he said.
