ARCADIA, Mo. (AP) _ Authorities are searching in southeast Missouri for a 3-year-old who disappeared from his home.

Joshua Childers was reported missing around 12:30 p.m. Monday near Arcadia. He slipped out the back door of his home and hasn't been seen since.

The boy has blond hair was last seen wearing a blue and green shirt.

The search effort includes police dogs and a few hundred volunteers on four-wheelers. The effort is focused along the border between Madison and Iron counties.

Phone message that The Associated Press left with the Madison County Sheriff's Office were not immediately returned.
