Sporting KC Weekly Schedule: Oct. 29 - Nov. 2

(October 29, 2013) -- Sporting Kansas City enters the 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and will open the team's postseason, presented by Ivy Funds, against the New England Revolution at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday at Gillette Stadium. The Eastern Conference Semifinals match-up will air live locally on KSMO, regionally on KMTW (Wichita, Kan.), WIBW (Topeka, Kan.) and MC22 (check your local listings) as well as nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Gran D 1340 AM (Spanish) will also broadcast the game live for their listening audiences.

The Boulevard Members Club at Sporting Park will host the team's official watch party. Doors open at 6 p.m. CT and parking is available in Lot D. The event is free and open to the public. Media are invited to attend for photo and video opportunities, including fan reactions and interviews.

Sporting Kansas City will train at 10 a.m. CT Tuesday through Friday at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park (6310 Lewis Rd., Kansas City, MO). All practices are open, unless noted otherwise, with media availability upon the completion of training. The team will hold a weekly press conference with Manager Peter Vermes and a Sporting KC player at 12 p.m. CT on Thursday at the Sporting Club Training Center.

At 10 a.m. CT today, tickets for Sporting Kansas City's first home playoff match will go on sale to the general public via Ticketmaster.com. The time and date for the match have not been determined by Major League Soccer. Sporting Park will host the decisive second leg in the Eastern Conference Semifinals with the winner advancing on aggregate goals scored over the two-game series.

The Sporting KC Show airs live on Sports Radio 810 WHB from 7-8 p.m. CT with hosts Callum Williams, Andy Edwards and Carter Augustine. This week's show will feature an interview with U.S. Men's National Team playmaker and Sporting KC All-Star Graham Zusi. Fans are encouraged to call 913-3-810-810 to join the discussion.
On Wednesday, fan voting will launch for AT&T Goal of the Year on MLSSoccer.com. On Thursday, the Chipotle Catering for 20 Sweepstakes will officially end. Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. will host the Big 12 Soccer Championship from Nov. 6-10. Media interested in covering the eight-team tournament are asked to complete and return the media credential application by 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
