LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Kansas freshman Chase Hanna continues his hot start to his college golf career as he leads the Jayhawks again following day one of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate. "It was a pretty disappointing performance today from top to bottom," Kansas head coach Jamie Bermel said. "We just couldn't get anything going and now we dug ourselves into a hole."

Kansas sophomore Connor Peck, who is playing in his first two rounds of his division one career, carded a first round 75 (+4) and second round 73 (+2) placing him in a tie for 32nd with 148 (+6) in the 96-golfer field. Behind Peck are KU sophomore's Ben Welle and Jackson Foth who sit in a tie for 40th with a total of 150 (+8). Welle shot a first round 78 (+7) followed by a second round 72 (+1). "I was pretty happy for (Connor) Peck," Bermel said. "He played pretty solid in his first Division one golf event. As far as tomorrow goes, we need a great round of golf."
