TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)___Senior guard Laura Kinderknecht was named honorable mention Daktronics All-America Friday by a vote of College Sports Information Directors of America members.
Kinderknecht was already named the Daktronics Central Region player of the year and the MIAA most valable player. She also earned first team honors on both those teams.
She finished the year eighth in scoring in the MIAA with 14.0 points a game and she was third with 2.8 made 3-pointers a game. Overall, she was in the top 10 in six MIAA statistical catergories.
Kinderknecht became Washburn's 14th player to earn an All-America award and this is the 28th All-America in Washburn's history. She ended her career with 20th at Washburn with 1,019 points, third with 197 3-pointers and sixth with 312 assists. She's the only Lady Blue to ever score at least 1,000 points with 300 assists and 197 3-pointers.
The Lady Blues finished the year 23-6 and won the MIAA title for the second straight year with a 16-2 record. They advanced to their 12th straight NCAA tournament.
