Hayden graduate Lindsay Biggs was named to the AVCA All American second team.

Eckerd release from Biggs' Regional honor:

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - For the second year in a row, Eckerd College volleyball outside hitter Lindsay Biggs was selected to the 2012 Daktronics All-South Region Second Team as announced prior to the start of the NCAA Championship.

The junior captain adds this second-team regional selection by Daktronics to a growing and impressive list of honors gathered this season.

Voting for the Daktronics regional teams is tabulated through a combined vote by the respective sports information departments in the South Region.

For the second year in a row, Biggs, along with teammate Ali McAlvany, was selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Region Team. Both remain eligible for additional All-American accolades.

Biggs also collected First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference recognition and was runner-up in the race for SSC Player of the Year.

Excelling just as much in the classroom as the court, Biggs became the third student-athlete at Eckerd this year to be named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team, joining soccer's Matt Duffy and Arie Anahory.

Biggs led her team in kills, finishing her junior season with 417. She also sent over the most service aces on the year with 35.

Heading into her final season, the outside hitter is already part of an elite group of players in school history to put down over 1,000 kills in their careers.
