FORT RILEY, Kan. - Soldiers, friends and family at Fort Riley came out Tuesday morning to wish 3,700 of their comrades well as they prepare to head to southwest Asia.

A record sized crowd gathered on Calvary Parade Field to see the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division off.

The "Dagger" brigade, as they are known, recently returned from the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Calif., where they prepared for this deployment.

The brigade hasn't said what day they are leaving, but plan to deploy sometime in October.
