I-70 Bridge Repair Scheduled to Begin Next Week in Topeka Save Email Print

A project to repair the eastbound and westbound I-70 bridges near Adams Street/Branner Trafficway in Topeka will begin next Tuesday, July 15 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane going each direction between 4th Street and California Avenue throughout the project duration.

The bridge repair project will be completed in two phases. Phase I, scheduled to begin next week, includes the closure of the Adams Street/Branner Trafficway to westbound I-70 entrance ramp. Phase II, scheduled to begin in early September, includes multiple ramp closings: Adams Street/Branner Trafficway to westbound I-70 entrance ramp, 8th Street to eastbound I-70 entrance ramp, 10th Street to I-70 entrance ramp and the eastbound I-70 to Adams Street/Branner Trafficway exit ramp according to an official release.

No marked detours will be provided, and drivers should expect delays. If possible, use an alternate route.
