Box Spring Mattress Caused Five Car Pile-up
A box-spring mattress flying out of a pick-up truck and in the way of an oncoming car is to blame for an accident Friday around noon, on I-470 near Gage Boulevard.

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW)_ A box-spring mattress flying out of a pick-up truck and in the way of an oncoming car is to blame for an accident Friday around noon, on I-470 near Gage Boulevard.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers say three people were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Other people received bumps and bruises after the accident.
Parts of I-470 were shut down for about two hours. As of 1:30 p.m., a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper expected I-470 to reopen by 2:30 p.m.
There are laws saying drivers must secure items in the back up pick-up trucks. There is no word if that driver will face any charges.
