(WIBW) - The relatives of a Goodyear worker who died outside the Topeka plant are seeking nearly $10 million in damages from his death.
A court document filed Monday say relatives of Walter Haake, Jr. are seeking compensation for mental anguish, suffering, bereavement, loss of society, companionship comfort and protection among other claimed damages
The 59-year old died March 29, 2008, after he was tasered three times by a deputy when he refused medical assistance in the plant's parking lot. Deputies were trying to get Haake to come out of his vehicle.
A coroner's report says Haake died of heart disease aggravated by compression of his torso while being handcuffed face down on the ground.
