TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Attorneys for two men injured in a shooting with off-duty Topeka Police Officers made it official Tuesday, suing the city over the incident.
Pedro Irigonegeray said the civil suit was filed in federal court this afternoon on behalf of Daniel and Devin Llamas.
It seeks $47 million dollars for medical expenses, negligence, and emotional distress.
The Llamas' were involved in a confrontation with four off-duty officers outside a Southwest Topeka home March 18th, 2008 which led to the shooting.
Following an internal review, Chief Ron Miller said the four acted inappropriately, but did not violate policy and would keep their jobs.
