Ogden, KAN.--An attorney announced that former Ogden Mayor Jimmy Bond was within his legal right to shut down the town pool last year.
Riley County Attorney Barry Wilkerson made the announcement Friday. Recall organizers claimed Bond violated the Kansas Open Meetings Act last July after he closed the pool unilaterally.
Voters sent Bond out of office by a 2 to 1 margin last week.

Although Bond has been cleared of not violating the first allegation on the recall petition, are we to assume that all the other remaining allegations, in which was used to determine & to validate the approval for a recall election, will also be addressed by "OUR" (Ogden & Riley County Taxpayers) County Attorney and followed with a formal determination as well? And similarly, an investigation into the misuse of public funds allegations made regarding personal & 900 # phone calls made from his Ogden City's phone & service. I understand that if true - isn't simply a matter of paying the charges to make all ok. Since it would be breaking the law, the act alone should be prosecuted as a crime, requiring ANY allegations to be validated or disproved. So I look forward to hearing from Mr. Wilkerson the verified determinations of the remaining issues that constituted an approved & voted out recall election. I'm sure he will be anxious to protect all Riley Co residents who voted him to office
