TOPEKA, Kansas - During Colon Cancer Awareness Month, the American Cancer Society, Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Center, and Dillons are raisin’ awareness about colon cancer!
“This is the second year for our Raisin’ Awareness about Colon Cancer campaign,” explains Deb Parsons, Society health initiatives director in Kansas. “This campaign helps us get people’s attention and encourage them to talk with their doctor about colon cancer testing. And since raisins are a high fiber food, which is good for your colon, we’re raisin’ awareness by giving out boxes of raisins along with information about colon cancer screening.”
Look for Raisin’ Awareness displays at the six Topeka Dillons Pharmacies; Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Cotton-O’Neil facilities and events; and American Cancer Society facilities, education programs and volunteer meetings in the community.
If your business or organization wants to join our Raisin’ Awareness about Colon Cancer campaign, please contact the Society at 785-438-5604 for details.
