Topeka (WIBW) - Topeka City Council members formally threw their support behind efforts to bring Google's high-speed fiber experiment to the Capital City.
The Council approved a resolution at its meeting Tuesday night encouraging Google to choose the city as a test site for an ultra-fast internet connection.
City officials already are completing a request for information that's due March 26. Mayor Bill Bunten issued a proclamation renaming Topeka "Google" for the month of March.
Incidentally, Kansas City, Missouri city officials called a news conference for Wednesday morning to discuss their efforts to woo Google.
