Topeka (WIBW) - An ethics case against a former assistant attorney general is on hold indefinitely.
The Disciplinary Administrators Office said Tuesday the hearing for Stephen Maxwell won't take place until after hearings for former Attorney General Phill Kline and another of his former assistants, Eric Rucker.
The office has issued a subpoena for Maxwell to testify in the those cases. Rucker's hearing is set for April 27 and 28, while Kline's is schedule for May 26, 27 and 28.
At issue is whether they misled others to further investigations of abortion providers.
The Disciplinary Office says it continues to work with Maxwell toward a resolution of the case.
