Leavenworth Welcomes New Commander
Fort Leavenworth welcomed its new commander during a special ceremony Wednesday. Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen, Jr. will also head the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command's Combined Arms Center.

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (WIBW)_ Fort Leavenworth welcomed its new commander during a special ceremony Wednesday. Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen, Jr. will also head the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command's Combined Arms Center.
Caslen comes to Fort Leavenworth from Hawaii, where he served as the commanding general of the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks. Prior to that, he served as the commanding general of the Multi-National Division-North during Operation Iraqi Freedom and as the deputy director for the War Terrorism in the Joint Staff.
He replaces Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, who left Fort Leavenworth to become commander of the NATO training Mission-Afghanistan and Combined Security Transition-Afghanistan last November.
As the new commander of the Combined Arms Center, Caslenis responsible for leader development, doctrine development, and training support to prepare Soldiers.
