Commissioners Reject Treasurer's Request
Shawnee County Commissioners unanimously voted down more than $58,000 for a new accountant in the Treasurer's office.

Topeka (WIBW) - Shawnee County Commissioners Monday denied treasurer Larry Wilson's request for money to fund a new position.
Wilson asked commissioners for more than $58,000 to hire an accountant. Wilson told commissioners at last week's meeting the money would come out of the funding that was already in his budget, but Monday he said he misunderstood the question.
Commissioners unanimously rejected the request.
