Topeka (WIBW) - A car chase through downtown Topeka was cut short because of the slick road conditions.
Capital Police say, just before 10 pm Sunday, a vehicle ran a red light at SW 10th and Topeka Boulevard.
An officer pursued the vehicle east on 10th. The driver entered eastbound I-70 at Monroe St. and was reaching speeds up to 75 miles per hour.
The officer determined the weather conditions made it too dangerous to continue and backed off.
No accidents or injuries reported as a result of the chase.
