Commission Gives Go Ahead On Topeka Bridge Project
Shawnee County commissioners on Monday gave the go ahead to a bridge project. The County Public Works will continue working on a design for the Willard Bridge in northwest Topeka.

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW)_ Shawnee County commissioners on Monday gave the go ahead to a bridge project. The County Public Works will continue working on a design for the Willard Bridge in northwest Topeka.
That is because the bridge has the same design as the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis in 2007. Despite that, the Shawnee County Public Works says the bridge is safe.
Shawnee County Public Works says it will take about 18 months to get a design complete for the bridge, then they will need to search for funding.
