TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)_ Kansas businesses added hundreds of jobs in November, but are still along way off from the same time last year.
According to the latest figures from the Kansas Department of Labor, seven hundred jobs were added last month, dropping the unemployment rate one-tenth to 6.2 percent. Despite the gain though, there are more than 60,000 fewer jobs when compared to this time next year.
Even though, the unemployment rate across the state fell in November, it was heading the other way in much of northeast Kansas. In Topeka, it topped six percent after gaining a tenth of a point. It's approaching four percent in Manhattan after a 0.3% gain.
Lawrence also saw a jump of three-tenths of a point and sits just under five percent. A tenth of a percent gain in Wichita has the unemployment rate pushing eight percent.
The unemployment rate fell nearly a full percentage in Kansas City though, from 7.1% to 6.2%.

HOW MANY OF THESE SO CALLED DROP IN UNEMPLOYMENT PERSONS ARE IN THIS STASTIC BECASUE THERE BENEFITS RUN OUT AND THEY CAN NOT GET A HOLD OF ANYONE AT THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE . YOU CALL AND YOUR ON HOLD THEN THERE TO MANY CALLERS WAITING SO THEN YOU ARE DISCOUNTED.
I believe unemployed workers who are no longer able to draw unemployment benefits are not part of this count. These people are most likely the new homeless.
