A Topeka family is counting it's blessings Tuesday afternoon after the family dog fell through the ice.

Roman spent about fifteen minutes in the icy cold water before rescuers from the Mission Township Fire department were able to get him out.

The dog put up a bit of a fight when rescuer Liutenant Jason Shoney tried to pull Roman out.

Romans owner crawled across the ice, grabbed his collar and pulled him to safety.
