Residents Could Have To Purchase Flood Insurance
Shawnee County Commissioners discussed updating the county's flood map at its meeting on Monday. If the map is updated, it that could cause some homeowners to need to purchase flood insurance.

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW)_Shawnee County Commissioners discussed updating the county's flood map at its meeting on Monday. If the map is updated, it that could cause some homeowners to need to purchase flood insurance.
That is because Congress mandates that homeowners with mortgages backed by federally regulated or insured regulators in high-risk flood areas purchase flood insurance.
