Westar Announces Dividends
Westar Energy stockholders will receive a 30 cents per share quarterly dividend, the board of directors announced Wednesday. The dividends will be paid on January 4, 2010.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) _ Westar Energy stockholders will receive a 30 cents per share quarterly dividend, the board of directors announced Wednesday. The dividends will be paid on January 4, 2010.
Shareholders of record are expected to receive their share by December 9.
The board also announced that preferred stockholders of the company's 4.25, 4.5, and 5 percent stock will be paid on New Year's Day
