A lawsuit filed in connection with a deadly football fan bus accident in 2006 is set to go to trial.

The Manhattan Mercury reports that the trial will start February 8th in the Douglas County Courthouse and is expected to last for six weeks.

Chris Orr of Salina filed a lawsuit against the owners of the bus called the "Cat Tracker."

Orr suffered brain injures when his head struck a Lawrence overpass.

John Green of Shawnee was killed in the accident.

Orr's lawsuit alleges the owners of the bus were negligent because they let people ride on top of the bus.

I would think thatif I was sitting on the top of a moving bus going down the highway that it may not be the safest thing to be doing, it might be fun but not safe. How many fun things get people killed? If people would have just thought a little bit most of them would still be alive and not injured.

He should be ashamed of himself. No one told him to be on top of the bus much less stand up. He should be responsible for his actions. Don't blame someone else for acting dumb when you are drunk.
