TOPEKA, Kan., (WIBW)_ Area school administrators met to share ideas and learn how to incorporate “Positive Action” into their schools.
Dr. Carol Allred, the developer of the Positive Action program, talked with the administrators, counselors and school resource officers about how teaching and building self-esteem and life-skills to students helps cut down underage alcohol and drug use, along with behavioral problems in their classrooms.
"It's getting our kids to a place where they feel good about themselves," said Highland Park High School Associate Principal Val Patterson.
Administrators from Shawnee Heights, USD 501, Rossville, Seaman, and Silver Lake were all present at the workshop.
