(WIBW) - A man serving time at a federal prison in Colorado was indicted on charges he killed a fellow inmate while in custoy at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth.

30-year old Michael White is charged with the murder of Michael McAnulty, who was killed Dec. 31, 2003.

At the time of his death, McAnulty was serving life for assault with a deadly weapon on a mail custodian in connection with a 1997 armed robbery in Charlotte, N.C.

If convicted, White faces a sentence of life in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation worked on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Rask and Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheri McCracken are prosecuting.
